SwissCarInfo provides instant access to official Swiss vehicle homologation data (Reception par type / Typenschein / Omologazione). Every vehicle registered in Switzerland has a unique type approval number that contains all technical specifications. Beyond vehicle search, the platform offers comprehensive statistics on the Swiss vehicle fleet, electric vehicle adoption by municipality, brand market shares, rental fleet analysis, and Swiss aircraft registry data.

### Vehicle Search — every possible entry point
SwissCarInfo aggregates 6 generations of Swiss homologation data + the live ASTRA IVI service + the canton plate registry. A single search box (https://swisscarinfo.ch/fr/search) accepts every kind of identifier and routes it to the right source:
1. **Swiss type approval number (TG code / Typenschein / Réception par type / Omologazione)** — `type=variant`. The number printed at **field 24** of the Swiss registration certificate (permis de circulation / Fahrzeugausweis / licenza di circolazione). Formats:
- Modern Gen3/4 codes: `1VD123`, `1AB456`, `1VS345`
- Legacy Gen1/2 codes: `000101`, `T123456` (pre-1995, scanned PDFs)
- Gen6 TAS codes: `1AB0001`, current eCOC format
2. **European type approval (e-number)** — `type=approval`. EU homologation reference printed on the European COC. Format: `e1*2007/46*2066*10`, `e6*KS07/46*0001*05`, etc.
