# AI Grammatic
> AI Grammatic (called GrammaticAI until October 2026) is a Mac menu bar app for people who write in English, or
> any other language, that isn't their first. Select text in any app, press ⌘⌥E, and it's rewritten in place the
> way a native speaker would put it: grammar, natural phrasing, the right tone, and translation from another
> language. ⌘⌥⇧E gives a formal version, and ⌘Z brings back what you wrote.
- Platform: macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. A direct download, signed and notarized by Apple.
It isn't on the Mac App Store because it needs macOS Accessibility access to copy and paste in other apps.
- Works in any app where you can select and paste text: Slack, Mail, Gmail, Outlook, Notion, Linear, Jira,
Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, Teams, code editors and every browser.
- Languages: rewrites and translates into more than 30 languages, including English (US and UK), Spanish, German,
French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Each language can
have its own shortcut.
- Price: one plan, $7.99 a month or $59 a year (EU: €6.49 or €49). It starts with a 7-day free trial: a card
is needed, nothing is charged for 7 days, and a reminder email goes out 3 days before the first charge. One trial
per person. Everything is included: 50,000 words a day, the AI runs on AI Grammatic's servers (no API key), and
you pick models from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) or DeepSeek. There is no free plan; the app needs
the trial or a subscription to rewrite. The demo on the homepage gives 5 free rewrites a day in the browser.
- Payments are final (no refunds); cancel or switch between monthly and yearly anytime in the billing portal.
- Privacy: text passes through AI Grammatic's server to the chosen AI provider and isn't stored; only daily usage
counts are kept.
- Compared with Grammarly and Apple Writing Tools: AI Grammatic is built for second-langua
