# Quicknode — Blockchain Data and Onchain Execution Platform > Quicknode is blockchain infrastructure for building onchain products, built around two capabilities: accessing and understanding blockchain data, and executing transactions onchain. It supports 80+ chains and 130+ networks. RPC is one of several ways to reach the data, alongside real-time streams, gRPC and WebSocket subscriptions, REST APIs, and SQL. Quicknode handles 500B+ requests per month at 99.99% uptime with an 83ms global average response time (2.5x faster than the next-fastest provider on public benchmarks), and is SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certified. Quicknode began as the fastest way to read a blockchain (RPC nodes) and grew into a platform that also indexes that data and executes transactions on it. Multi-chain RPC is the floor; the data and execution layers built on top are the differentiator. Customers span exchanges and trading apps (Coinbase, Kraken, Backpack, Polymarket), DeFi protocols (1inch, 0x), wallets and consumer fintech (Phantom, MoonPay, Uphold, Revolut, Bitpanda), stablecoins and payments (Circle, Ripple), data and analytics platforms (Dune, Nansen, Arkham), and enterprises and new chains (BlackRock, Monad, Berachain). ## Core capabilities - Blockchain data: decoded, indexed, real-time and historical onchain data for wallets, analytics, trading signals, and transaction monitoring. Delivered by whatever fits the workload rather than a single API: SQL (SQL Explorer), managed pipelines (Streams), event notifications (Webhooks), raw low-latency feeds (Yellowstone and HyperCore gRPC, WebSocket), REST, and JSON-RPC. - Onchain execution: sending transactions and getting them to land, across the full lifecycle rather than as separate add-ons. Includes swap routing (Swap API, Metis for Jupiter), transaction broadcast, MEV protection and gas recovery, and staking and validators. For AI agents, "safe execution" means three concrete things: simulate a transaction before it is signed
